How To Write a Story

In How to Write a Story, join Naomi Kinsman from Society of Young Inklings, to explore one way to come up with an idea, develop it further, and draft a short story.

To begin, we’ll look for an idea that sparks your curiosity. Finding a story idea may just be easier than you think! Next, we’ll consider the world of your story. What does it look and feel like? To capture our ideas, we’ll draw a map. Each of the following videos will help you build on your idea. You’ll develop a character, a basic plot, and plan out a few scenes. When you’ve completed the activities, you’ll have a plan for a story, plus tools to use any time you want to start a new writing project.

We’ll walk you through the process step by step. So, grab a notebook, a pencil, and let’s get started!
