Editor's Note
There are two pathways to becoming a better writer. They work together. The first is simply to write. The more you practise, the better a writer you will become; as the saying goes, "practice makes perfect." The second pathway is reading. These collections of online reading resources for children include prose as well as poetry. The most recently published books will not be found in these archives. Writing is forever. Writing styles change over the decades and centuries. There is always something to learn. Browse with a writer's eye—for style, for the seeds of stories, for examples of good dialogue, and of bad. Treat these archives as tools to help you write creatively and with conviction. You cannot read too much. And you cannot read too widely. Read books from 1920. From 1880. Read whole books. Read a paragraph and move on. Explore!
