My Hammock

Anamaria Grieco

Still.Suddenly, asweet song,a lullaby.

Swinging now.

A husha shusha soft touchcaressing mysharp elbows,my shivering toes,my rounded cheeks.

Swinging now,

Swathed insilken materialhush, hush, hushGoodnight sunalonebut contentnot lonelyseveral long seconds…

Swinging now.

Stars smile at mesprinkling lightEach star, its ownstarlike snowflakes.Individuals.

Swinging now.

I sleepdreams tiptoeingacross my mindslippered feet slidingsilently.I sleepSafe in my hammock.
