The Jewel Case

Ruhi Sah

I see you in a bowlTantalizing me.

I pick you upYour smoothness

Goes unnoticedAs I cut you into quarters

Eagerly trying to get toYour ripeness.

You are a red jewel caseWith red jewels inside you,

ShimmeringLike drops of blood.

I take one jewelI put it to my lips

I smell nothingBut taste the

HeavenlinessSweetness

DeliciousnessOf the

Red pomegranate.
