The Storm

Lincoln Hartnett

Brilliant splashes of yellow lightSpewing all corners of the earthWith a radiant glow of scarletThen darknessA shield of grayThen the rainsPounding relentlesslyOn the coldDampGroundThe windSlowly growingWith every passing secondA clap of thunderVibrating the water-drenched groundThen peaceThe storm retreats.
