Advanced piano players! Hard music by young composers.

Frederick Ouseley (1825-1889) was a British musician and composer. He specialized in church music. He started writing music when he was three — his sister transcribed those first pieces. A couple hundred pages of early manuscripts exist and I am hopeful that I can get a copy of them. They are at the Bodleian in Oxford, UK. Here is a PDF of Frederick Ouseley’s March, 1883, written when he was six. And here is a PDF of other early pieces by Ouseley. We would love to publish a recording of this music. If you play the piano and can play the piece — age is not an issue in this case — then please do and send it us. You can upload it at our normal submission location. Use the category for young musicians. Adults are welcome to record.  This call for recordings will be left up until we have one.

Sunny Morning, Piano Music by Julius Ugo, age 10

This lovely piano piece is written by Julius Ugo, age 10. Julius lives in Toronto, Canada. This is what he says about the piece, “My video is about waking up on a freezing, sunny day and looking out the window at my neighbourhood. I snapped some pictures of nature and a lot of ugly buildings some how snuck in to the shots. I liked the effect and I hope you like it too.”
