Daily Creativity #21 | Flash Contest: Write a Poem about Something in Your Kitchen

Go into the kitchen. Stand in front of a cupboard with food in it (or the fridge). Close your eyes, open the door (or better still, have someone else open it for you), stretch out your hand, and touch something. Keep your hand where it is. Open your eyes. Look at the thing you are touching. Congratulations! You just found the object that you are going to write a poem about.

Daily Creativity #15: Write New Lyrics or Music for a Handwashing Song

Are you still singing the same old hand washing song? Are you tired of it, yet? Write some new words to fit with your favorite melody. Maybe it’s the tune you are tired of. If you are musical, compose a new one, and write down your composition; if you can’t do that, choose a new tune and amend the words as required. Teach the song to the others you share a bathroom with. (Rinse, and repeat this process whenever you need a change.)

Daily Creativity #13: Focus on the Letter W

It’s Wednesday! Today, we are going to be guided by a letter of the alphabet: W! Really focus on the W in the What, Where, and Who of your Work. Create a drama that takes place on a Wednesday, in a place (or places) beginning with W, in which all the characters have names beginning with W, and which turns on something to do with a W. When you’re done, and you’ve earned some downtime, you can relax by Watching the very silly movie It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) on YouTube or Google Play – and then as a bonus activity, you can write a review of that for Stone Soup!
